VKU students excellently won the third prize (TOP 9) at the 2023 ICPC Vietnam National Round
Defeating many teams from universities across the country, the VKU student team, VKU.FrendshipPower, from the Faculty of Computer Science excellently won the Third Prize (TOP 9) at the 2023 ICPC Vietnam National Round. This team includes three second-year students namely Le Tang Phu Quy (from class 22GIT2), Nguyen Tran Huy Vu (from class 22IT1), and Vo Thanh Phong (from class 22GIT1).

ICPC is the most intellectual and professional playground for students passionate about programming that meets global ICPC standards. For each round, the teams undergo a 5-hour working section to solve thirteen programming problems and each program of solution must be completely correct to be accepted. The most recent Vietnam National round in 2023 was held on January 5, 2023 at seventeen nationwide contest locations with 415 teams from universities, colleges, and high schools from the whole nation. Among those teams, VKU student team is one of the most newly participating, who just started this playground in the country since 2020.

Previously, on October 22, 2023, at the Central region round, the VKU13 team (including Le Tang Phu Quy; Nguyen Tran Huy Vu; and Vo Thanh Phong) also impressively defeated 69 teams from other schools from the region to win the First Prize of the 2023 ICPC Vietnam Central region round.
