On the afternoon of March 29, 2024, the Opening Ceremony for the Final Round of the 5th Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands was chaired and co – held by Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Da Nang and Vietnam Information Technology Association, ICPC Vietnam, Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City and Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang together with the companion of Hanwha Life Company (Korea) and CFK Fund – ChildFund Korea (Korea). This is an attractive, useful playground that promotes the passion for learning, updating, practicing, and creating programming solutions, contributing to the provision of high-quality human resources in the future for the Central – Central Highlands in particular and the country in general.
Overview of the Opening Ceremony for the Final Round of the 5th Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands 2024
The Opening Ceremony welcomed:

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU is pleased to welcome delegates, distinguished guests, all teachers, parents and 656 excellent candidates/2,390 candidates who have reached the final round of the 5th Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands 2024
VKU is proud of being a leading public university in Information Technology, Communications and Digital Economy operating according to an international university model. The quality and reputation of VKU has been strongly and continuously affirmed over the past years. The average admission score for all 15 admission codes is 24 points (highest in the Central region). Of which there are more than 30% who have scores of 27 or higher. The 5th Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands has passed 2 rounds, the preliminary round (on March 2, 2024) and the semi-finals (on March 9, 2024) took place in the form of an online competition with more than 2,390 students from 354 high schools for the gifted, high schools, and secondary schools from 47 provinces/cities nationwide participating in 03 competition groups: Super Cup group (For students in the team participating in the National Informatics Competition); Informatics specialized group (for Informatic specialized students at high schools for the gifted) and Non – Informatics specialized group (for the remaining groups).
With the cooperation of reputable experts from the Vietnam Informatics Association, ICPC Vietnam and VKU, the qualifying exam has been built in a serious, high-quality, highly classified manner and ensured accurate and fair results. Based on the results of the exams, the Organizing Committee and the Judge have selected 656 best candidates to participate in the final round, including 158 candidates from the Super Cup Group, 175 candidates from the Informatics specialized group and 322 candidates in the non-informatics specialized group.
The total reward of the 5th Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands for students with achievements is up to 100,000,000 VND (One hundred million VND) and many internships in Korea for candidates who win high prizes to enroll in VKU.

Candidates participating in the final round prepared to enter the rooms
Right after the Opening Ceremony, 656 contestants will enter the final round with 3 groups: Super Cup, Informatics specialized, and non-informatics specialized with content and questions according to the standards of National and International Informatics competition for excellent students. All questions in the 3 groups ensure quality, reliability, security and are issued by the composing committee consisting of reputable experts nominated by the Vietnam Informatics Association and ICPC Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen Long, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Information Technology Association, Director of ICPC Vietnam is in charge of questions composition. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Phan Thuan (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and Dr. Do Duc Dong (Hanoi National University) are in charge of specialty issues.

It is expected that on the morning of March 30, 2024, the announcement, the awarding, and the closing ceremony of the Final Round of the 5th Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands 2024 will take place.
