VKU Welcomes and Discusses Cooperation with the Senior Leadership Delegation from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand
On the morning of July 19, 2024, the University of Danang, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) was honored to welcome the senior leadership delegation from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand, to attend the ACIR+ 2024 Community and the 13th CITA 2024 Workshop at VKU.
Overview of the Reception of the Senior Leadership Delegation from KMUTNB
Attending the reception, representing KMUTNB was Prof. Dr. Somrerk Chandra-ambhorn, Vice President, leading the delegation, along with its members. On the VKU side, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector; Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector; and leaders from various departments and faculties of the university.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of VKU, expressed his joy in welcoming the KMUTNB delegation for accepting the invitation to participate in the activities within the framework of the 13th CITA 2024. Since VKU and KMUTNB signed a cooperation agreement nearly a year ago, both sides have proactively and actively implemented numerous specific activities in academic exchanges, student internships, and cultural exchanges between lecturers and students in Vietnam and Thailand. These activities have yielded excellent results and left a deep impression on the lecturers and students at both universities. This reflects the high spirit and goodwill of cooperation between the two institutions, contributing to promoting the internationalization of training programs, exchanging lecturers and students in scientific research and innovation activities, and opening up many new cooperation opportunities in the future. VKU wishes to deepen cooperation in professor, lecturer, and student exchanges, support for practical student internships, cultural exchanges with appropriate support policies. VKU respectfully invites KMUTNB to co-organize the Conference on Information Technology and Its Application (CITA) and host CITA 2027 in Thailand. Especially, on behalf of the ACIR community, VKU invites KMUTNB to join ACIR as a member, contributing to expanding the network of leaders, scholars, scientists, and researchers of Southeast Asian universities to promote activities that enhance training quality, innovation, and scientific research.

Representing KMUTNB, Prof. Somrerk Chandra-ambhorn, Vice President, head of the delegation, expressed his joy at the warm and thoughtful reception by VKU for the delegation and acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the cooperation between VKU and KMUTNB in the past period.
Building on the strengths and potentials of the two universities, and the geographic proximity and cultural and human similarities of the two countries in Southeast Asia, VKU and KMUTNB leaders agreed to comprehensively cooperate, committing to vigorously implement several contents such as: exchanging lecturers to teach in English for global programs at VKU and international programs at KMUTNB; exchanging students for internships, studying, and scientific research, especially in fields like information technology, computer engineering, logistics, tourism, and marketing annually; collaborating to organize academic programs such as workshops, conferences, and seminars at ASEAN and international levels. Particularly, students majoring in Digital Management of Tourism and Hospitality, Logistics will have opportunities to intern in Thailand to enhance their professional skills.

In a friendly atmosphere, the two universities outlined sustainable development directions, creating a beautiful relationship in the global development strategy in undergraduate and postgraduate training, student and lecturer exchange, and scientific research cooperation. This aligns with VKU’s and KMUTNB’s orientation to develop high-tech human resources training to an international level.
