An overview of the new students of the Class of 2024 on enrollment day
From the early morning of September 5, 2024, lots of new students and their parents gathered at the university, bringing along their belongings to prepare for a new chapter in life. The excitement was visible as they officially became VKU students, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey. Alongside the joy and eagerness, both parents and students shared feelings of nervousness and concern as they began independent lives away from home in a new educational environment filled with unfamiliar teachers, friends, and knowledge.
The 2024 admission season concluded with over 16,000 applications submitted to VKU through various methods. Out of these, 1,611 candidates were admitted to VKU, with entrance scores ranging from 22 to 27 (based on the national high school exam scores) and from 24 to 27 (based on high school academic records), and other methods of admission included direct admission under the regulations of Ministry of Education and Training, VKU’s special admissions policy, and the results of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City’s Competency Assessment Test, spanning 16 majors / minors offered by VKU. A total of 1,531 students completed their online enrollment through the university’s system at //nhaphoc.doofydizee.com, and 100% of new students completed in-person registration at VKU.

To provide the best support for the new VKU students, the university developed a detailed plan early on, preparing enrollment areas, decorating, and ensuring a clean and beautiful campus with slogans, flags, and banners. Comprehensive instructions for the enrollment process were also available to make students and parents feel welcomed by the VKU family. A team of over 200 volunteers, including faculty and student volunteers, were at key locations, from the surrounding streets to the campus, the dormitories, and the enrollment area, offering enthusiastic and thoughtful guidance to students and parents alike.
Many partner organizations and businesses, including NiX Education, VNPT Da Nang, Mobifone, Agribank Tan Chinh, Kim Anh Computer, Phong Vu, FPT Software Central, and FPT Telecom, joined the vibrant enrollment day, hosting booths to welcome and support new students.
The “zero-cost shuttle bus” for new students and their parents to VKU’s dormitories
With the educational philosophy of humanity, dedication, and liberation, VKU has implemented the “Zero-Cost Loving shuttle bus – Supporting Students to School” program to assist freshmen from remote provinces arriving in Da Nang for the first time. The program, which operated from September 4 to 5, 2024, offered three rides per day from three key locations: Da Nang Central Bus Station (north), Da Nang Railway Station, and Duc Long Bus Station (south). These rides transported nearly 300 new students and their parents safely to VKU’s dormitories, instilling a sense of trust and warmth as they embarked on their dreams at VKU.
Notably, VKU will grant 8 scholarships to outstanding new students from the Class of 2024 to participate in the “2024 Korean Invitation Program – ChildFund Korea” in Korea, slated for October 2024. This program will cover 100% of the expenses and will include visits to major technology and financial corporations, as well as startup incubators in Seoul, South Korea.
The university leadership successfully coordinated the enrollment program.
We extend our best wishes to the new students of VKU’s Class of 2024, hoping they will enter the 2024-2025 academic year with confidence, excitement, and a strong commitment to achieving excellent results in both academic and personal development. By doing so, they will contribute to enhancing VKU’s training quality, affirming the university’s reputation as a “DREAM UNIVERSITY – HAPPINESS IN CENTRAL VIETNAM.”
