VKU Students participate in KMUTNB-VKU Innovation & Intercultural Exchange Camp (IIEC 2024) in Thailand
From October 1 to October 8, 2024, the delegation of lecturers and students from Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, participate in the “KMUTNB-VKU Innovation & Intercultural Exchange Camp (IIEC) 2024” at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand, along with the participation from the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), Taiwan. Arriving at Bangkok airport on October 1, 2024, the VKU delegation was warmly welcomed by representatives of KMUTNB, and then traveled to the Prachinburi campus of KMUTNB, where most of the program’s main activities took place.
Overview of the Opening Ceremony of IIEC 2024
On the morning of October 2, 2024, the opening ceremony of IIEC 2024 was held at KMUTNB’s Prachinburi campus, with representatives from KMUTNB, NKUST, and VKU in attendance. The VKU delegation, led by Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector, included various department leaders, faculty members, and 16 outstanding VKU students selected to participate.

In his speech at IIEC 2024, Dr. Tran The Son expressed his joy and gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception from the organizers to the VKU delegation. Over the past year, since VKU and KMUTNB signed their cooperation agreement, both institutions have actively implemented various specific activities, with more than 60 lecturer and student exchanges for academic, internship, and cultural exchange programs in both Vietnam and Thailand. These activities have brought great results and left deep impressions on the lecturers and students of both institutions. Thereby, it highly demonstrates the goodwill of cooperation, contributing to the internationalization of academic programs, lecturer and student exchanges in scientific research and innovation, and opens new opportunities for future collaboration. IIEC 2024 not only provides opportunities for academic exchange for lecturers and students but also promotes cultural exchange and strengthens cooperation between VKU, KMUTNB, and other universities in the region.
VKU, KMUTNB, and NKUST students participate in IIEC 2024 activities
As part of the IIEC 2024 program, VKU students will engage in academic activities, hands-on experiences, and cultural exchanges through group work with students from KMUTNB and NKUST. Those activities include language exchange between Vietnam, Thailand, and Taiwan, participating in the design of traditional Thai products, brainstorming and developing products and presenting projects, touring and experiencing advanced technology labs at KMUTNB’s Prachinburi campus, and visiting the Techno Park, Central Library, and the ITD faculty at KMUTNB’s Bangkok campus.
Discussion on future collaboration between delegations at IIEC 2024
Additionally, leaders from the delegations attending IIEC 2024 and faculties including Industrial Technology and Management (FITM), Business Administration and Service Industry (BAS), and Digital Agro-Industry, had meetings to discuss future cooperation opportunities. These discussions focused on potential projects such as sending KMUTNB students to VKU’s international student exchange program, internships, and lecturer exchanges through online teaching modules, which promise close and long-term cooperation between VKU, KMUTNB, and new partners in the region.
IIEC 2024 activities will continue until October 8, 2024.
