Kick – off the Cybersecurity Challenge: DDC 2023
On the morning of June 15, 2023, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang collaborated with Evvo Labs (Singapore) officially organized the Kick-off the Cybersecurity Challenge, Digital Dragons (DDC 2023). This is an intellectual and academic playground, helping candidates have many opportunities to demonstrate and develop their knowledge, information security skills, and combat experience at their fingertips.

On the side of the Organizing Committee, there was Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, Head of the Steering Committee; Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Nguyen Thanh Binh – University Council Chairman, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector, Head of Organizing Committee; Mr. Vince Chew – CEO of Evvo Labs, Co-Head of Organizing Committee. And leaders of faculties, departments, lecturers and students of the University and a large number of students participate on the online system.
Speaking at the contest, Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap – University Rector affirmed: VKU is one of the three leading universities that train and provide human resources in Information Technology, Communication and Digital Economy of the whole country and only at the Central – Central Highlands region, has been making great efforts in training in Information Security, developing research groups, cooperating with Korea and enterprises to build research and training laboratories in this field.
With responsibility and mission, VKU has made great efforts to coordinate with Singapores Evvo Labs Group, especially with professional concern from the Information Security Department to initiate and organize the Cybersecurity Challenge: Digital Dragons aims to spread and raise awareness of the importance, create favorable conditions and useful academic playground for nationwide students to accumulate, learn experience, especially detect talents and students who are good at Information Security to continue to be fostered and trained to become information security experts for the country. Students participating in this competition not only have the opportunity to receive valuable prizes, but also to be exposed, supported and trained by leading experts in this field of VKU, Evvo Labs and others.

Digital Dragons: The Cybersecurity Challenge 2023 is officially launched from June 15, 2023 to September 16, 2023. The system will open automatic gates for teams registering for the contest starting from 12:00 on June 15, 2023 to 23:59 on August 5, 2023. The official competition will take place from August 7 to September 16, 2023 with 3 preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final (online) and final rounds (at VKU). In addition, from June 27 to August 8, 2023, there will also be a series of Webinars shared by leading experts in information security.
The competition will focus on basic to advanced knowledge and skills related to information security, including web application, networking, cryptographic techniques, inversion algorithms, vulnerability XXE (XML External Entity), binary mining, advanced cryptography and real world scenarios.
The total prize value is up to 100,000,000 VND with many attractive prizes. The 5 best teams in the final round will receive full support when participating in VKU.
The competition is honored to receive the professional support and concern from the Department of Information Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, along with the cooperation of domestic and foreign donors such as Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. VKU hopes that Digital Dragons: The Cybersecurity Challenge 2023 will attract the active participation of students from universities across the country and the competition will become a remarkable event in the field of information security, improving knowledge and awareness of information security for the community.
