<\/span>On the morning of May 20, 2023, at the Student Center – Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang held the creative contest RoboCar Final 2023 \u2013 The 4th time with the theme “Conquer challenges”. The contest hosted by the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, has been held annually since 2018, and is a robot creative contest for students of Information Technology and Computer Engineering, Electronics of the Central \u2013 Central Highlands\u2019 universities and the whole country with an expanding scale.<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Attending the final round, on the side of VKU, there was Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, Head of Organizing Committee; Assoc. Prof. PhD. Nguyen Thanh Binh \u2013 University Council Chairman; Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector; Representatives of Enterprises have Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung – EMB Expert \u2013 Head of Training Department – FPT Software Central; Mr. Phan Cuong \u2013 Director of EVIET Company; Mrs. Van Doan Duy Thanh \u2013 Head of NAPA Global Company Human Resources Department; Mr. Phan Anh Tuan – Head of Kim Anh Company Technical Department; and University Leaders, all lecturers, students and 16 final round team members.<\/p>\n

The creative contest RoboCar 2023 is an intellectual, practical playground that aims to encourage creativity, exchange, learn and develop technological ideas for students from first year applying information technology and electronic knowledge such as the circuit design of Arduino Uno R3, STM32, L298N motor circuits, HC06 bluetooth circuits, RF control circuits, TCRT5000 line detection sensors,\u00a0 and embedded programming on advanced programming languages, control techniques, PID algorithms, etc.<\/p>\n

Opening speech at the Robocar 2023 final round, Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Nguyen Thanh Binh \u2013 University Council Chairman, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee said: The Robocar contest organized by VKU has created a useful playground for students of information technology, computer engineering and electronics in the Central – Central Highlands region, helping students to practice the learned knowledge and start creative ideas applied in practice. In particular, approaching digital technology development and artificial intelligence to grasp the trends of society after graduation.<\/p>\n

RoboCar 2023 was held in 2 rounds, from April 16, 2023 to May 20, 2023, attracting more than 121 teams with nearly 850 students from many Universities in the Central – Central Highlands region such as: Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, University of Technology (the University of Da Nang), Dong A University.<\/p>\n

After 2 preliminary rounds, RoboCar 2023 has found 16 excellent teams to enter the final round. Teams must carry out a communication round to introduce the process of product formation and continue to research and improve the RobotCar to ensure functionality, minimize wind resistance, turbocharged engines and improve the quality to overcome obstacles in the fastest time, and reduce energy consumption for the Robot. At the same time, autonomous robots use line detection algorithms and balance control algorithms to control autonomous vehicles to operate with stability and high speed when there is a change in environmental parameters.<\/p>\n

RoboCar teams have used many flexible competition tactics, the RobotCar is designed fancy and creatively, materials such as mica resin, aluminum structure, foam,…with multi-tactic operation structure. The chips used are AVR, STM32, etc. chips that use a variety of programming languages such as Assembly, KeilC, Python, etc. the control balance algorithms, line detection, using electronic components from basic to intensive.<\/p>\n

With the form of combat competition, each team will build its own 2 cars Racing Car and Self-driving Car to participate in the race with a relay format of 3 parts: Autonomous Car Race, Racing Car Race, and shoot objects at a predetermined location, the cars must complete the race with predetermined tasks. In particular, the Racing Car race: RoboCar is manually controlled, through radio waves (Wifi, RF, etc.); The main techniques are applied: speed control, acceleration, direction of movement, robotic arm, etc. to perform tasks on the race, while the Autonomous Car race: RoboCar is self-propelled, the main techniques are applied: identification, route search, etc. to complete tasks on the race.<\/p>\n

The competition round was exciting and exciting<\/em><\/p>\n

In the final round, to ensure objectivity and fairness, the jury members are experienced lecturers in the field of control, automation and experts from enterprises. With the meaning of an intellectual playground, high attractiveness, this years contest has been attended by sponsors such as FPT Software Da Nang Company, NAPA Global Da Nang Company, Kim Anh Computer, 123Host Company, EVIET Company with a total prize up to 50 million VND.<\/p>\n

Through the tight and intense competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the ARDUOUS SUMMER team; the second prize to the NAM NG\u01af team; the third prize to the LURECHICKS team; the fourth prize to WALL-E team and 12 consolation prizes to the remaining teams.<\/p>\n

Student Pham Thi Yen \u2013 Leader of the ARDUOUS SUMMER team (first prize) shared: From the learned knowledge at the University and embarked on the design of the actual Robotcar, our team has encountered many challenges in handling complex data, calibrating the algorithm bit by bit to optimize the performance of the car through many rounds of competition. Through this playground, we have improved teamwork skills, how to divide the work for each person and also help us have a deeper knowledge of microcontrollers and have more ideas and solutions.<\/p>\n
