The Sunchips Saga…..
Sorry for the late post – we had quite the weekend. I don’t know why I always think I will have time to write when I am home!
I have a sad story to tell you – but there is a happy ending.
See this bag of French Onion Sunchips? I bought them on sale and had been biding my time before opening them (all of three days, but it was a herculean effort).
I love French Onion Chips and the plan was to have them with my lunch or as a snack at work.
Can you imagine how miserable I was when I opened the bag and <gasp> they tasted like regular sun chips?
There may have been an expletive or two uttered by Dizee. But then I started wondering – could it be me? Maybe, somehow, I ended up with an inability to taste French Onion chips?
The horror!
But no – I forced others to try the chips and they assured me there was absolutely NO French Onion to them.
Why this long drawn-out story about artificial French Onion seasoning on chips I probably shouldn’t be eating anyway?
I was so upset that I ended up emailing Frito-Lay chips to tell them about the crushing disappointment I felt at this situation….
Guess what they did? They sent me the coupons below – and I received them in days!
The moral of this little parable? It never hurts to let a company know you encountered a problem.

I love companies with wonderful customer service! It would have never occurred to me to write to a company about the flavor of a product, but I will totally keep this in mind. One of my HATES in life (maybe a bit too much drama here, lol) is thinking I’m going to enjoy eating a certain food and that for any reason I don’t end up eating what I expected! Ugh! lol
But anyway, going back to great companies! I put a fancy/expensive-to-us Nexxus hairbrush on my list last Christmas and received it. I was sooo disappointed when it fell apart a few months later. I kept using it without the handle for several months. One night, I got the random thought to contact them. I thought I’d have to give them an eyeful of how awful it was to have this happen. I truly thought it was going to be a hassle to get a response I’d be happy with. Much to my surprise! the response to my email was to apologize and let me know a check was being processed and would be sent in the next few weeks! It arrived a few days later! wow!!! I was super duper happy! So happy that I went to buy myself another one of their hairbrushes!!! lol Oh! Second best part was I found it on clearance, so I had a nice little chunk of change for myself!!
It definitely does pay to speak (or write) up!

I love that you emailed them. My disappointment would have been as crushing as yours (regular Sun Chips? Meh. French Onion? OH HECK YES!) but I never would have thought to alert them to my supreme sadness.
Also, thanks a lot. Now I have to go buy a bag.
