Wednesday Weigh In : I’m Back (mostly)

Monday I posted about my Thanksgiving Weigh In.

I am happy to say, even with the crap I have eaten, I was down 1.2 this morning.  Still up 1.2 total, but getting there.


Part of my success (if you can call it that) has been my hault on night-time eating.   I find that calling it a day after diner can really help keep that scale in check.

Oh, I am also wearing a smaller size jeans lately, very excited.  I still have some ‘muffin-top-control-issues’ I am working through, but I think we can get there.


There was a very interesting article I read this morning at Get Rich Slowly where the author was talking about Will Power as a muscle you have to work out.  I think this is something I need to start doing (as well as exercising my body… how I can’t fit in a 20 minute walking video is beyond me.)

Little Tasks : Cleaned My Desk (At Home…)

So, I have decided to cut my long list of goals into smaller, manageable pieces with the thought of completing 1 or 2 items a week… (more on those goals later).

I started with the desk at home.  It was scary - apparently I just stick everything there.

Can We Say Embarrassing?

There it is in all its mortifying glory (I purposely kept this picture small, devious right?) So, I turned on YouTube for the little one & in 20 minutes, transformed that cluttered ‘desk’ into this:

AHHHH… Nice.  And, no, I didn’t take everything & just put it on the floor.  I was amazed at how much junk I had on this little table.  Most of the paper was thrown out.  The books went in the book case & the toys went into the toy room.

Paper Plate Gourmet : Yummy Fruit Dip

I absolutely love this fruit dip… I made the portion size smaller so I can enjoy it for ‘non-special’ occasions.

    • 1/4 cup Cream Cheese 
    • 2 TBS Sour Cream
    • 1 TBS Brown Sugar
    • 1 TBS White Sugar
    • Vanilla Extract & Maple Syrup to taste ( I do a liberal pour of each)
  1. Let the sour cream come to room temp
  2. Blend all ingredients in bowl until smooth.
  3. Chill for a bit
  4. Enjoy with your favorite fruits (or just on a spoon)
The whole cup is about 11 points & I would estimate this was 4 portions making this delectable treat just under 3 points (a little goes a lonnng way).

If you want to make this for a group, here you go:

  • 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (+/-)
